Book Design, Layout & Publishing Support

A good book deserves to feel as considered as the words inside it.

I help authors and organizations transform manuscripts, photography, artwork, and ideas into thoughtfully designed books for print and digital publishing. From the initial visual concept and cover through editorial layout, typography, production, and launch marketing, I can help shape not only how the book looks, but how someone experiences it from cover to cover.

My approach

The design starts with the story.

I first consider what the book is trying to communicate and how it should feel to experience it. From there, I develop a visual language and editorial system that gives the content structure without competing with it.

Once the creative direction is established, I carry that system through the full publication and prepare the final work for production.

Practice, Practice, Practice: My Road to Carnegie Hall

Working alongside Alexander & Buono founder (author) and Nana Miyoshi (translator), I designed a 92-page, full-color hardcover coffee table book — in both English and Japanese — chronicling the fifteen-month journey from the day Carnegie Hall's date was confirmed to the moment Nana stepped onto its legendary stage for her solo recital debut. Featuring stunning photography by Francis Catania and Daichi Torigoe, two of the most celebrated photographers in the world, Practice, Practice, Practice is an intimate, behind-the-scenes portrait of dedication, artistry, and the pursuit of a dream.
